kids should stop Trick-or-Treating in 8th. I say this because at this age we still support Halloween. We don’t try to ruin it for others, nor do we wear inappropriate costumes.

First of all in 8th grade where at the point of going from kid to teen. That means that we still celebrate Halloween and enjoy it; However, teens take it another way. Instead teens find it more entertaining to scare little kids and watch them run around. Yet there are some teens that stick with the spirit of Halloween and make it enjoyable.

Second reason is as we grew older we want to try new things. Like scaring little kids or wear inappropriate costumes. This can ruin it for others because then parents will keep their younger kids home. They just don’t want teens to influence their child to bad things. Thats how some kids don’t get to really enjoy Halloween.

My final argument is that teens wear inappropriate costumes. Because of this we don’t really enjoy Halloween. So most of the times parents leave their house to take their kids Trick-or-Treating, and because of that it decreases the amount of people giving out candy.
As the best supporters of Halloween,8th graders would enjoy there last halloween.

I dont want to say that teens are bad. I’m just saying that it should end in 8th grade. This is because as 8th graders we still support Halloween, we don’t ruin it for others, and finally we don’t wear inappropriate costumes. So after all we better enjoy the last good moments of our childhood.

Ever thought when people should stop trick-or-treating? I think people should stop trick-or-treating at the end of middle school. When you're a teenager you're either more mature or inappropriate and if you're inappropriate you can be a bad example for kids. Also when your are a teenager you have to do “adult” things. My last reason, is that teenagers can ruin halloween.

My first reason is that when teenagers will maybe get more inappropriate and set a bad example for kids. What i mean is that teenagers might wear bad costumes; teenagers can even say something bad. So if a teenager sets a bad example what if that little kid catches on? I know it might be fun for teenagers to scare little kids and get them to freak out, but little kids want to have fun too. Halloween is the only holiday that you get an enormous amount of candy (except for christmas). So let little kids have fun with their lives for once!

My next reason is teenagers should be helping their parents. For example if your parents can’t follow your younger sibling house to house who are they going to send to do that job? Well if you were out with your friends doing who knows what are they going to give you the job? The answers no. What i’m saying is that you’ve had done halloween for 13 years let your little brother/sister do it to, and you might have to stay home and give the other kids candy. Help your parents out and also your little brother/sister!

Last but not least, my final reason is that teenagers (sadly) can ruin halloween for many people. Not only can they ruin it for adults who like to see the little kids get creative and have scary costumes, they can ruin it for little kids. Like i said before teenagers can scare these little kids, or even steal their candy (which hopefully doesn’t happen a lot). I’ve seen some teenagers be nice before, but some are just mean. For example on halloween night my friends and I were walking and heard a rustling in the bushes. Thinking it was just the wind, we kept moving along. About ten seconds later BOOM couple of high schoolers pop out and scare us. That made me just lose halloween spirit. So lets just be respectful to everyone and not ruin halloween.

I know high schoolers can also be nice, but they should just not trick-or-treat anymore. I believe still that they will still be inappropriate, and can still ruin halloween for everyone. Teenagers should also help their parents and of course brothers and sisters. Halloween is a holiday of scare, but also a holiday of fun.

After 8th grade kids should stop trick-or-treating. My reasons are people will stop giving high schoolers candy, high schoolers would scare little kids, and middle schoolers still take the time to dress up.
My first reason is some people don’t give highschoolers candy. Picture this, your doorbell rings on halloween; you grab your candy basket to go feed some little kids. Then you open the door, and instead of looking down, you look up. That startles some candy givers and they don’t give the high schoolers any candy. Another reason they wouldn’t give high schoolers candy is they want to save it for the little kids. How are high schoolers supposed to trick-or-treat when they don’t get any candy? However middle schoolers can slip past this unspoken requirement.
My second reason is if you are any older than eighth grade, you could scare some small kids.
Middle schoolers are in that phase, in which they know what costumes to wear, so they won’t scare little children. High schoolers, however, won’t be so nice. High schoolers enjoy pranking small children and wearing creepy, or inappropriate costumes. These things can make children turn from enjoying halloween, to dreading it.
My last reason is middle schoolers actually take the time to buy, make, or borrow a costume. They don’t just walk to the house as themselves, like most high schoolers do. No, they enjoy dressing up and going around, showing off their costume. Middle schoolers, like elementary schoolers, just want to enjoy the holiday.
There are many different ages people think trick-or treating should stop. However, I think after middle school is the best choice. As I stated before, people usually stop giving candy to high schoolers, high schoolers could scare younger kids, and middle schoolers still take the time to dress up.

Debating about trick-or-treating is a complex subject, and there are so many opinions people have about this topic. I believe you should stop trick-or-treating at age fourteen. The reason why is because you might have other interests, you will abuse the privilege, and you don't fully enjoy the real meaning of Halloween.
Many kids grow out of trick-or-treating around eighth grade as their interests change. Most people like the idea of halloween because it’s a free candy goldmine; most of the time you can go to a party and receive free candy too. Staying home and handing out the candy can be just as fun. Your parents mostly pay for that candy anyways so it would be free. Plus you can invite friends over and do something better than walking around the neighborhood. Think about it, there are so many other ways to get that sugar that is away from younger kids.
The idea of walking around late at night pretending to be someone you aren't, sadly is tempting to teens. They see this opportunity for an easy in to scare younger kids. When you were little weren't you the victim of this, or witnessed it? You have to agree that it can be frightening or troublesome. If nobody would do this Halloween would so much more enjoyable for everyone, but this will be extremely hard to accomplish. Therefore, just making an age limit would be a little simpler.
Teens also forget the fun in trick-or-treating. Little kids see it as getting to dress up as some awesome person and get candy, but older kids see it as ridiculous and just a waste of time. They would rather drive to the store and buy some. This is a good thing for the younger children because they don't need to worry about the big kids stealing their candy or scaring them.
The reason why you should stop is because teenagers might have other interests, most of them abuse the privilege, also older kids don't have the spirit of Halloween. Younger kids don't want to worry about the older ones at their are night of fun. Stopping trick-or-treating at the end of eighth grade, or at the age 14, is a better benefit for children that are younger.

I believe that kids should stop trick-or-treating around the age fourteen or at the end of eighth grade. I believe this for these reasons (a) most teens will be at that age where they’ll still dress up but most likely go to a party instead of lurking for candy, (b) some kids might be left without candy, and (c) they won’t go trick-or-treating just to scare kids, rather to still enjoy Halloween.

My first reason is that a lot of teens won’t go anyways, though they’ll probably still dress up, they will probably just go to a party or haunted house with their friends. I know that when I had my brother at home he stopped having a certain desire for trick-or-treating; instead he would go to parties with his friends. And for some reason I feel like my friends and I will also be spending many Halloweens at parties or haunted houses too.

My second reason is that if teens do go trick-or-treating some of the younger kids might be left without candy. Have you ever had to hang a sign out early in the night (because of teens) that says “Sorry no more candy”?, well I have and it feels awful. While candy has a way of making people feel young again, if teens really do want the candy they can probably forge up the money to buy it themselves.

My third and final reason is that in middle school the kids won’t go to just scare the little kids, unlike some teens in high school, they’ll go to enjoy the actual spirit of Halloween. I remember when I went trick-or-treating a few years ago, and there was this one group of teens that just went to terrorize the elementary schoolers (me at the time). While some teens still get into the spirit and fun of things others just don’t seem to.

Now I’m not protesting that trick-or-treating is only for kids; I’m just saying that most teens lose interest. The reasons that state and support this belief are(a) most of them will be at parties, (b) some little kids might be left without candy if they go, and (c) some teens just go to scare the little kids, yet middle schoolers, who still enjoy the spirit of Halloween, will go to enjoy the night with friends.

I think kids should stop trick-or-treating at the end of middle school. In middle school, kids still dress up in the costumes and they still have the halloween spirit, and they do not try to scare people, nor do they do things to get in much trouble.

One of the reasons is that older kids won’t even dress up or participate in the spirit of Halloween, unlike smaller children, not many teenagers dress up, they are just in it for the candy. The candy should be given to little kids who are dressing up and do not have as much of a chance to get to the door as older kids, the small children should get the candy first.

Another reason is that younger teens will not try to scare little kids or senior citizens. Older kids who are much bigger can scare others. Some teens will dress up and try to scare single mothers, or elderly, or small children. Since they are much bigger it easy for them to scare people by jumping out at them or things like that.

My next reason is that older kids will do more pranks. Teens will do things like egging houses or covering them in toilet paper and things like that, but younger kids will not do that. Teens will want to do more tricks than when they are young, and that will cause trouble for them and other people.

In conclusion I think that trick-or-treating should stop in middle school. I believe this because smaller children participate in Halloween, will not scare little kids or senior citizens, and because older kids are likely to get into more trouble and do worse things than smaller children.

In my opinion kids should stop trick-or-treating at the end of middle school. Middle schoolers still tend to dress up for Halloween And go trick-or-treating . High schoolers are too old to be asking for candie. High schoolers also lose the spirit of halloween because there growing up.

In middle school ,kids/teens still trick-or-treat and dress up.
They also behave and don’t tend to scare little kids .Theres old people like high schoolers who ask for candy but don’t dress up, so whats the whole point on going trick-or-treating. Older people also tend to scare little kids.

High schoolers are to old to be asking for candy. When they can just go buy candy for themselfs and they can buy as much as they want. Most high schoolers work when there in high school so they can just buy candy . If I were handing out candy I woudent want to give high schoolers candy.

High schoolers also lose the spirit of Halloween. By not dressing up, and just asking for candy . Most high schoolers tend to scare little kids. Halloween is more for little kids than for high schoolers.

Most of these things are my opinion and what i think. Am not saying you should stop trick-or-treating. So am not trying to be mean just saying what i think.

I believe kids should stop trick-or-treating at the end of eighth grade. Any kids older than that can not take trick-or-treating seriously. They vandalize and don’t respect the spirit of Halloween. They only want to make trouble and eat junk food. They also stay out really late. Some teens don’t even dress up they just go door to door asking for candy. And adults won’t say anything because you don’t want to make them feel bad or embarrass yourself.

Teens vandalize peoples’ homes and don’t respect the spirit of Halloween. Teens, and people older than that, can see no better opportunity to make some mischief than Halloween. They don’t respect the dressing up and going trick-or-treating. they don’t respect the taking time to make your own costume with your family or spending hours looking for costumes and things to go with it. Last year, there were teens playing ding-dong-ditch on us and woke my brother up.

I understand that some teens can handle Halloween, but most don’t. Even one teen scaring a little kid or taking too much candy can ruin another kids Halloween fun. Scaring little kids with terrifying costumes can lead to some horrible memories of a day that was supposed fun. I remember when I was a little girl, there was a boy that snuck up on me and frightened me with his costume. It was a bad way to end a fun-filled night. Teens taking too much candy can result in unhappiness. Do you remember what it was like, going up to someone’s door and they’re all out of candy? It makes me feel sad inside that theres not even one piece left.

Also, teens stay out really late. It gets very annoying when teens knock on your door in the middle of the night asking for candy. Also, some families have little kids that are sleeping and when teens knock on the door at night it wakes them up. My parents always get annoyed when teens are up so late wanting candy. My parents just give them candy; anything otherwise would result in embarrassment and rudeness.
In conclusion, trick-or-treating should end at the end of middle school. Teens can not take dressing up seriously; and they don’t respect the spirit of Halloween. Teens vandalize property and make trouble; all they want is to eat junk food. Teens shouldn’t be trick-or-treating.

Halloween Debate: Initial POst My belief is that kids should stop trick-or-treating in 8th grade. I believe this because all(or most)of us turn 13 at this time. When you become a teenager, it is the early stages of adulthood. You don’t see adults trick-or-treating. We also probably don’t enjoy going around to houses and hearing/seeing little kids crying. It’s annoying. We also don’t want to be a teenager and have our mom walk us around, with us dressed in a bee outfit, asking for candy. It’s embarrassing.
My first reason is that we all(or most of)us turn 13 around this time. So we are teenagers. Being a teenager is the early stage of becoming an adult. And you don’t see adults going around from house to house asking for candy. Halloween is supposed to be fun. But with teenagers going around, it’s not going to be as much fun as if we were eight. We grow up and out grow things, it’s just part of life.
My second reason is when we hear or see little kids crying it gives us a headache. So why is so much fun to go around and hearing little kids cry? I don’t understand it. I would rather be inside playing video games, than hearing little kids cry because they couldn’t have all the skittles.
My third, and final reason, is we don’t want to go around from house to house, with our mom, with us dressed in a mouse costume. Leave that for the younger kids. I mean, it’s just going to be embarrassing to walk with our moms asking for candy. That’s just not for teenagers, that’s for eight year olds.
I’m not saying don’t get in the spirit of Halloween(trust me, I decorated my house with Halloween stuff), just don’t go trick-or-treating. It’s just not as fun to go house to house, building to building, asking for candy. Leave that for the younger kids. As we grow up, we grow out of things. It’s just my belief that when you get in 8th grade, it’s time to outgrow Halloween. It’s just not as fun.

In my opinion, I think kids should stop trick-or-treating at the end of middle school. This is because some people don’t want 6 foot kids showing up on their doorstep, it is a little too childish, and also there is an appropriate age limit to Halloween but still celebrate until you are out of middle school.

First of all, people that give out the candy, they would be pretty scared if they saw some 6 foot kids dressed like zombies begging for candy. That would be really freaky, and also, teens out walking along the street would scare some little kids and freak them out because their like twice their age and size. They should be enjoying watching the kids outside enjoying Halloween, not ruining it for everyone else.

Second of all, going trick-or-treating as a junior in high school is a little too childish. People that age should be trying to act like adults, and not trying to act like preschoolers. Teens dressing up as Harry Potter or Super Man are just really immature for their age. Instead of being all cute and stuff; they’ll scare kids to death. That’s why at the end of middle school you should stop trick-or-treating.

Last of all, is that kids should still celebrate Halloween and enjoy it because all of us are not into the tooth fairy, santa, or even easter but we still have Halloween. Halloween is the one holiday that, us kids, still have. We get to go out and hang with our buddies, get free candy, and have some fun. But there is a stopping point for people which is the end of middle school. If you are a teen, hear me now, “Grow up!” You are too freakin’ old to be trick- or- treating. I know it’s fun but please just grow up and try to mature. Halloween is one of the last holiday that we still have and celebrate it until you’re done with middle school.

As you have heard from me, kids should stop trick-or-treating at the end of middle school for these reasons: 6 foot kids showing up at your doorstep might scare you, it is childish beyond middle school, and until your out of middle school celebrate the awesome, sugarful holiday of Halloween!

I believe that kids should stop trick or treating at the end of middle school. I think this because the middle schoolers are smart enough, they think it is fun, and because of the tricks and scares.

My first reason is that the middle school kids are smart enough. I think they are smart with their actions. My reason is, middle schoolers don’t go off and try to be the big bully to little kids. They don’t like to get scared, it is fun for the high schoolers, but I don’t either. Another reason is that they are not begging for candy like older kids. I think that middle schoolers are smart with their actions.

The second reason is that we can have fun too. We got rid of the other holidays ( Santa, the Easter bunny, ect. ) so why give up the spirit of this one. I always have had fun time dressing up, so why can’t we dress up another time? We are also out going from door to door with our friends for fun. If we can’t walk around with our friends, what can we do? I think that middle schoolers schoolers should go trick or treating for fun.

My last reason is that we don’t trick or scare kids as much as the high schoolers do. Scaring is sometimes fun for you, but not for the little kids. Last year I went in a dress and a scary mask and the kids did not mind. They were shocked and a little frightened, but not as scary as some people.I think my costume was really good; I think other people liked it too. Middle schoolers don’t scare or trick kids as badly as high schoolers do.

In my opinion, I think that kids should stop trick or treating at the end of middle school. This is because they are smart enough, it is fun, and because of the tricks and scares.

Halloween is a holiday that will never goes away no matter what age you are; however trick-or-treating does. I think once you hit 13 trick-or-treating is over because after that it’s kind of weird for the adult to be giving candy to a teen. Older teens dress in scary costumes and drive the little kids away from a house with fear. And last but not least teens .
my first reason is mainly because its (usually) awkward for the adult to be giving candy to a older kid. Because of the fact that they might not be dressed up for or supporting the spirit of Halloween. Second because and because the older kids might not be as polite as the younger kids of as adorable.
my second reason is even though Halloween is made for costumes older kids wear more scary and inappropriate costumes. These costumes usually aren't appropriate for the little kids. they also drive kids and even some parents away from a house with fear, disappointment, and sometimes for the parents even anger.
My last but not least reason is that most teens will grow out of trick-or-treating by them self. Teens sometimes can be awkward for some teens to go door to door either because they are shy or they are self conses. Also they might feel that other people will judge them for going out and trick-or-treating. Some teens simply outgrow it because they think its boring or they are to old.
i’m not trying to exclude teens from Halloween and just say its for kids i'm saying that kid should get trick-or-treating to themselves. What i'm trying to say is that sometimes its awkward for the adults, they wear costumes that are scary or inappropriate, or they simply outgrow it.

How old do u have to be to really stop Trick-or treating? I believe that around the age 12 or 13 is when you stop Trick-Or Treating. When your in middle school you become more mature and independent. Therefor not depending on your parents as much as you use too.
One of my main reason for saying that you sound stop Trick-Or-treating at the age of 12 or 13 is because some kids my age will not go for the fun of Halloween but just go for the candy, while they are taking away for the littler kids experience of Halloween. I've seen my age kids go house to house pushing little kids out of the way, and also scaring them with their costumes. Making them really not want to trick-or-Treating anymore.
My second reason is when you are older you will not be getting yourself in trouble. Most kids at the age of 13 or 14 will think that it is cool and funny to go and prank someone house. By doing that you will get yourself in trouble, therefore losing your trust from your parents.
My last reason some towns are banding 12 or older from going house to house for trick-or-treating. I think that that a good idea because, When you are the age of 12 you are mature enough to realize that is no longer a good thing for you to do. Inside you should go to parties or hand out candy to people that come to your house.
All of the reason above are why you should stop going trick-or-treating at the age of 12 or 13. When you have read this i hope that is has changed your view of how u think about Halloween.

Halloween is meant to be fun and exciting but, people can ruin that fun. There’s a certain age when you know you have to stop asking for candy from strangers and wearing a costume. I think a perfect and appropriate age to stop trick-or-treating is eighth grade. Eighth grade is when most teens mature and hangout with their friends for halloween.
Teenagers shouldn't be asking for candy if their not really in the spirit of halloween. If you're not willing to dress up in a costume and actually be in the spirit at least leave the candy for the little kids. A good part about high schoolers not doing halloween is that they cannot terrorize little innocent kids trying to have fun. I remember when I was about in fifth grade there was two teenagers in scary halloween costumes scaring little kids…. including me. The next day I was questioning if I wanted to trick-or-treat next year.
Halloween should be fun and safe for kids! Kids shouldn't be afraid of the holiday just because older kids are ruining it. You might ask well if we shouldn't go trick-or-treating in eighth grade than what do you do? A good way to spend this holiday is with friends! It can be as simple as having a friend over to watch scary movies. Or having a halloween party with a big group of people. High schoolers also can wear inappropriate outfits and costumes that you would not want your kids to see. So when your child see’s a teenagers wearing a scary costume scaring little kids they might think thats OK. Truth is I’m pretty sure nobody wants to be scared by an older person with a scary costume on. Im not saying that you shouldn't or can't wear a scary costume but Its definitely not ok to take advantage of that and scare somebody.
Its never fun to have non dressed up teens that come to your house and ask for some candy...My last persuasive thought is some teens go around and egg or (tee-pee) peoples houses at night when its dark so you never know who is it. If your teens are out and walking around at night your never even gonna know what they're really up to. Halloween really needs to be about trick-or-treating and little kids in costumes asking for candy. Some teens think if you don't trick-or-treating you don't get candy… well thats one of the problems on why high schoolers still go. Like I said before most adults don't like to give out candy to teenagers who don't actually care about the holiday!
It is appropriate to stop trick-or-treating in eighth grade. Its when most teens find out what the rest of the world is doing and sometimes that can have a bad outcome. Like scaring little kids with scary costumes or even egging or (tee-peeing) someones house. Halloween in my opinion should be for little kids! Its supposed to be about candy and costumes. I think teenagers after Seventh grade should stop trick-or-treating. Teenagers can ruin this fun holiday for kids dressing up in costumes and getting candy. All kids should be able to enjoy this holiday and have fun!

What age should be the cut off for trick-or treating? I think that your sixth grade year should be the last year of you trick-or-treating. During that year you are starting to grow out of your little kid habits and starting to become more mature and independent, and part of growing up is not wanting to go out and buy a costume and face paint. By the time you're about twelve or thirteen you will realize that you’re just not that excited about it.
My First main reason is that you could be filling up the streets and taking the candy that little kids could be having. What if it was a little girls first time trick-or-treating and she gets scared to death because of your costume, and makes her whole night horrible because she can't get that image out of her head of the scary monster thing that was going to go eat her. I think that we should prevent that from happening by putting an age limit on what age we should stop trick-or-treating.
Second Reason is that we have to grow out of it at some time so why not when we are maturing. I think that not going trick-or-treating shows that we are growing up and not little kids anymore. Teens who do go trick-or-treating, are all for it, but not for a good reason they just want to scare little kids to death. When they could be out with friends having a good time instead of making little kids nights horrible.
Third and last reason is that little kids still look forward to it. not for hurting little kids feeling but for the spirit of it. I believe that Halloween is very fun for little kids but when you're older you don’t really care that much for. So why ruin the night that there looking forward to that only comes once a year.
In conclusion i think that we should stop trick-or-treating when we are twelve to thirteen years old because of filling up the streets and taking candy that little kids could have. Kids by that age start to grow out of it. and that little kids still look forward.

Halloween is a holiday almost everybody loves. You get to dress up as someone or something else for a night and get free candy. But how old is too old for trick-or-treating? I believe that eighth grade is the limit for trick-or-treating. This is because after eighth grade year, little kids should have the fun, teenagers wear inappropriate costumes, and teenagers do things that are too scary for little kids.

Halloween was meant for kids to get out and have fun. They don’t want high schoolers running around in scary costumes taking the candy from all of the houses. As a little kid, I hated being scared. I remember a Halloween a few years ago, I was out trick-or-treating with my friends, when all of a sudden a high schooler in a gorilla costume came up from behind us. Being a little girl, I was terrified of all the scary costumes.

Although Halloween is meant for costumes, teenagers take this to a new level. They wear things that Isn’t always suitable for younger children to see. Teenagers want to grab attention with the costumes they wear, but I don’t think they’re thinking about the children and their parents. If they want to dress inappropriate, they should go with their friends to have fun instead of terrorizing kids with costumes.

As a child I loved Halloween, but all of the scary decorations and costumes always made me want to re-think my decision to go trick-or-treating. As I've stated before, I hated being scared. Sometimes, kids would be too scary to the point to where I would walk next to my mom for comfort. As I've gotten older, I have realized that people were doing scary things for fun, but i don’t think they’re thinking of the kids when they put scary things on. Older teens will be tempted to scare all the little kids, but if they stop in eighth grade that won’t be too big of a problem.

Ending treat-out-treating in eighth grade would allow kids to have more candy and fun, would avoid children from seeing someone in a scary or inappropriate costume, and be able to enjoy the night without being too scared. Although I’m sad that last year will probably be my last time trick-or-treating, I believe that that is a good choice for me and all the other children.

How old do you have to be to Trick- or- Treat? Well, it really doesn’t matter, but I do recommend stopping after eighth grade. This is because they are at a stage where they don’t wear cute and cuddly costumes anymore, they start to get into the scary costumes. Which are not only used to go Trick- or-Treating.

My first reason is that, middle schoolers still love to participate in Trick- or- Treating and, nobody should ruin it for them. Soon enough you will get older and grow out of this type of thing. Once you are in high school you could stay home and give out candy, or throw a Halloween party. You are never too old to dress up.

The second reason is the scary costumes that the teenagers wear are just too inappropriate and freighting for little ones. If the majority of the teenagers wore freaky costumes some of the kids nights would be ruined because, they are too afraid to go back out there with the “monsters”. Although there are some teens who think it through more thoroughly and go after everybody is done and pick up the remains of the candy on the doorstep.

My third and final reason is parents usually don’t like when teens come late because they disturb the ones who are sleeping. Also when they arrive at the door they are not polite when it comes to asking for candy. Some people just shut off their lights because they don’t want to deal with their improper manners.

My point is its best for you to stop Trick- or- Treating in eighth grade. Don’t just think about yourself think about others. How would you like it if some random person dressed up as something creepy and scared you to death, or knocked on your door late at night? Probably not very much.

Halloween Trick-or-Treating

I think kids should stop Trick-or-Treating after 8th grade. The reasons I think this is because middle schoolers are not quite a teen, so they will not do inappropriate things like High schoolers. The second reason is that kids still want to go Trick-or-Treating. Last it is a good way to get middle schools outside and meeting their neighbors.
One of the reasons I believe that middle schoolers won’t do inappropriate things, is that most still put a lot of thought into their costumes. They also have parents that watch the clothes that they were, so they will not be allowed to wear anything inappropriate. Middle schoolers normally don’t wear extremely scary costumes, that just to end up scaring all the little kids. The middle schoolers are not a teen yet; They don’t get joy from scaring all the little kids out of there mind. Kids also have little sisters or brothers, so they reflexively thinking about them. They also don’t get joy from egging someones house, like some middle schoolers.
Another reason 8th graders(and younger) still should be able to go Trick-or-Treating is that they still enjoy it. In Middle school, kids whether they admit it or not, are always judged or judging how someone acts or does things. When Halloween comes they just shrug it all of and can go Trick-or-Treating and enjoy it. They are also still young enough that they still have fun with it too. It also shows when they take the time to work on a costume that they really have Halloween spirit.
The last reason is that this is a good way to get middle schools to stop using electronics and go outside. At this day and age, electronics are something that kids use all the time. Too many times Middle schoolers spend nice sunny days inside playing video games. When they go out Trick-or-Treating, they spend some time walking around, also they have to put in some effort for the costum. As they walk around they will also know more of their neighbors, like who moved out when the scary house on the street suddenly does not have any decorations.
In the end I still believe that middle schoolers, should still be allowed to go Trick-or-Treating. Kids under 9th grade typically don’t do inappropriate things, and they still enjoy the fun of Halloween. Last it is a good way to have kids met their neighbors. These are the reasons why I believe after 8th grade kids should give up Trick-or-Treating.

I believe that children should stop trick-or-treating is at the end of middle school. the high schoolers would get rough and scare kids. they should by their own candy, and maturity.

The high schoolers may get rough and show a bad way to act. They can also scare little kids away. And can show kids to act in a bad way.

High schoolers should also buy candy and hand it out. The only reason they should be out trick-or-treating is with younger siblings. Then it would make sense.

The next reason is maturity. Although you still can trick-or-treat is still fun to do, high schoolers would go to partys. If there friends see them trick-or-treating they might think they might not be cool. But when they see them going to the party they are cool.

And so that is why I believe that high schoolers should stop trick-or-treating is for maturity, being too rough, and they should by their own candy.

10-20-14 Halloween!
One of america's important and most enjoyable holidays is Halloween, kids love Halloween for the fact you dress up, you get candy, hang out with friends up late. I believe that people should stop trick-or-treating at the end of 8th grade because teens will dress inappropriately, not enjoy it like younger ones would , and do illegal or bad things like egging houses and scaring younger ones.

I believe that kids should stop trick-or-treating by 8th grade because the fact that they may wear a inappropriate costume. When people grow older they are allowed to watch bad movies, games, and TV shows that they might like like and decide to wear for a halloween costume. The costume might be too violent or inappropriate for littler children to see at the age they are at, but when you are in middle school you might not see or watched such things. It may also be not right because if they wear bad stuff they might think other bad stuff could be OK.

I think that high schoolers, or teenagers, will not even start enjoying Halloween any more when they are in high school. I am not saying that will still not enjoy but the majority of you will think it’s childish and not enjoy it as much when you were younger. It may be fun to some of you still you including me but the teens that don't enjoy it and yet roam around with a scary costume scaring people should be home carving pumpkins. Teens may not also enjoy it because parents would not give you a happy face they did when you were smaller, they just have a straight face and give barely any candy.

The last reason teenagers should not trick-or-treat is that they have the urge to break the law and do bad stuff, for example some teens may wear costumes and egg, t.p, or do damage to houses.
When you are a teenager you will know that others will do bad things or have a urge to break the law, damage school property, and will try to fit in. The other reason is that the bad people will put force on them to fit in or otherwise they will think of them badly.

I believe that you should stop at middle school because because you may wear inappropriate costumes, not like it, and will have a urge to do bad things. These reasons might not be much but there are so many more.

At the end of middle school kids should start thinking about the little kids. I believe that kids should stop trick-or-treating at the end of middle school. Kids are at that age where they need to stop trick-or-treating and start doing something else on Halloween like for example go watch a scary movie, go to a haunted house or even help give out candy.

My first reason of why kids should stop trick-or-treating at the end of middle school is because at this point people are coming mature enough to know not to scare little children and ruin Halloween for them, I know I hated that. I would be walking around the neighborhood a high schoolers would jump out and scare me to point where I would be to afraid to keep trick-or-treating. Don’t ruin that for the little kids.

My next reason is middle schoolers can wear inappropriate costumes and do inappropriate things around little kids. That could ruin trick-or-treating for them or could make them think that its ok to do that even if they are 6 or 7 years old. At the end of middle school kids should start thinking about the little kids. Remember how much fun you had when you were a kid. And how you hated when middle schoolers or even high schoolers would wear inappropriate costumes and do inappropriate things around you and your friends. That could ruin their night.

My final reason why kids at the end of middle school should stop trick-or-treating. Is because they all love scaring little kids but most of the little kids do not like to be scared so why scare them and ruin their night. Instead go to a haunted house and get scared. Everyone likes to get scared a little but not all little kids ( yet at least .) So why scare them when you could get scared and actually have fun being scared instead of making little kids cry. Even though that may be fun its not very mature . Parents aren’t going to let their kids go trick-or-treating if we ( middle schoolers ) are going to be scaring them the whole time.

The end of middle school is a perfect year for kids to stop trick or treating. More little kids could have more fun. Not so many little kids would take on what inappropriate things high schoolers do. Yes we all love scaring, having fun, and of course the candy, but there comes a point where kids should stop trick-or-treating. So why waste it scaring little kids and go have fun while you still can.

I think kids should stop Trick-Or-Treating by the time they are in eighth grade. I think so because, that's when they start getting older.
My first reasoning is; teenagers are immature (most of them). They do things like, having parties. When they have those parties they do stupid things like; for example, getting drunk or bringing alcohol, or even drugs.
The next reasoning is that, Halloween is a day for mainly little kids. Its a day were they go and get candy, simple as that. Where as, if your eleven, twelve or even thirteen, I think its okay to still Trick-Or-Treat.
I think its okay for thirteen year old's to still go Trick-Or-Treating because, one, they want to get candy, and two, they probably are still at that age where they still want to hang out with their family, instead of going to parties.
My last but not least reasoning kids should stop Trick-Or-Treating when there in eighth grade is because, some kids get lectured about how they are going to be teens and how they need to be responsible all the time. And they hate the idea that they are growing up, so Halloween is the one night were they don't have to worry about growing up, and can just have some fun with their friends, family or whoever. Then you really think about, kids in Middle school don't really believe in things like, the Tooth Fairy, or Santa Claus, or even the Easter Bunny. They only really believe in Halloween because its the day they can really show their character and have fun.
That is why I thinks kids should stop Trick-Or-Treating by the time they are in eighth grade.

costumes scare kids, the spirit of Halloween should be enjoyed and celebrated and older kids are pushy I think that kids should stop trick-or-treating at the end of middle school because high school kids don’t exactly have the spirit of Halloween and they start to wear inappropriate costumes to scare younger kids. Also, High School kids are pushy and irritate adults giving out candy.

Some younger kids might still be in the spirit of Halloween. Spending lots of time getting ready or dressing up like your favorite superhero or princess. Getting excited about dressing up and going door to door to get candy is the spirit of Halloween. I think kids should stop trick- or- treating by the end of middle school because they’re still in the spirit of Halloween. Some kids aren't ready to say when they are done so just let them enjoy as long as they want.

My second reasons is some of the customs must scare little kids, like a really scary clown, Jeff the killer or Freddy. Imagine seeing your kid scared of Halloween and hiding under the bed, that would just be plain sad, I would say that if you plan to go trick-or-treating wear something not as scary so that Halloween can still be fun.

My third reason for believing High Schoolers, grades 9-12, should not trick-or-treat; they carry gigantic pillowcases and are pushy when they knock on your door so they can get as much candy as possible. They get in the way of the little kids and irritate adults that are handing out candy. They keep going to the same houses over and over and knock on doors way too late after the lights are out.

So i think that trick-or-treating should end at the end of middle school because of inappropriate about candy.

I think that you should stop trick-or-treating after you are in 8th grade, the first reason is that when you are in high school you throw parties, and you're too old and big to go trick-or-treating;also you dress inappropriately and no one wants to see that.

My first reason is that when you are in high school. You throw parties and sometimes halloween parties. You need to socialize a lot outside of school. The only reason you should be trick-or-treating when you are in high school is if you are taking your younger sibling or younger cousin trick-or-treating.

My second reason is that you're getting too old for it and a little big for it.The person that is giving you candy won't let you get candy because little kids want candy to and it is not fair to them. Also we have bigger hands than they do. I think that if high schoolers don’t trick-or-treat then there will be more candy for the little kids and that will rock.

My last reason is that high schoolers dress inappropriately. Also they don’t see the littler kids, because they are little.I just think little kids should not see high schoolers on halloween night.also littler kids get scared by high schoolers that are not mechor enough to stay home or party. i just think high schoolers should not go trick-or-treating unless they are taking someone younger than them.

first reason,

THE mayor in louisiana had made a push in 2008 to ban teens from trick- or- treating, if the teens did not stop they could get a fine up to 100$ just for trick-or-treating! Its insane right?Well that only happened for a little while.I think people should stop trick or treating at the age of 14 or 15 at least. The reason i wish people stopped at the to ages of 14 and 15 is because i have been scared by people by the age of 14 and 15 all the time when i was little. My second reason is that i dont want six foot skeletons barging liitle ones out of the way just for candy. Its not really fair for the little ones to get no candy what so ever, especially if the cause is from them geting pushed out of the way.My third reason is if the teens are wearing scary or inapropriate costumes the kids might think it is a good idea to do it to but when really its not good for them. Also it may make them not want to go trick- or- treating any more and stay home instea of going trick or treating.it may be ok for teens to stay home and have a halloween party but going out just to scare other people just isn’t right to me and a few other people. In some cities they have baned teens from trick-or-treating.My forth reason is if teens just want to have fun can they at least not do any thing to little ones or any thing that does not want to be scared ever by teens or adults.
conclusion paragraph

my main thing im trying to say is if teens are going to keep doing the thing most people hate its not going to end well for them.also almost more than 200 cities have banned teens from trick-or-treating.interesting fact right?
we know that people like to trick-or-treat but what is gonna happen when they get too big and tall?well that is when they stop trick- or- treating for the rest of there lives. what happens to the ones who don’t stop?well most people don’t give them treats or anything at all. the least if seen a teen get was some toothpaste and a pair of socks.weird right?

Halloween Debate
The age that kids should stop
trick-or-treating has long been debated. I believe that kids should stop trick-or-treating at the end of middle school. I have three reasons for this. At this age we don’t scare little kids with our size or costume choices. I think the economy needs kids trick-or-treating. And finally, we just still really enjoy it.

My first argument is that middle schoolers aren’t as tempted to wear clothing that is inappropriate. I know this because most middle schoolers are pretty self-conscious about themselves, so I don’t think they’d want to wear anything that might make them feel bad about themselves or make other people feel bad. They also know how to dress. They aren’t going to wear something scary, because most of them have little siblings at home and know not to scare them.

My second reason is that frankly I think the economy needs us. It’s a chance for kids to save money on candy. It also supports our local dentists, and if we don’t support them they might not support us on the back of t-shirts we get throughout elementary school. And on the other side of things if we don’t spend money on Halloween candy our stores could lose a major sale, hurting the economy.

My third reason is that middle schoolers are still into the spirit of Halloween. Middle schoolers enjoy the creativity of making our costumes with friends. We also know a lot about how to have fun and spend time with friends. It’s a fun community event for us.

So that’s why I think trick-or-treating should stop at the end of middle school. It still gives us time to be social, use our creativity, and support our economy before we start to grow out of trick-or-treating.

In my opinion I think that people should stop trick-or-treating around the end of eighth grade, and I think this is true because sometimes high-schoolers can be very reckless, mean, and plain out stupid.

Whether partying with friends or trick-or-treating with little children, teenagers can be very rash in things that they do and say. This brings me to the point that teenagers can be mean to little children at any place or time but wearing a mask and a flowing cape in the middle of the night makes them even more brutally frightening. Also teenagers impetuous as they are, have many rules to bend and to break so this brings me to teenagers in their houses with friends is much safer for them and the community rather than out in the middle of the night with a mask.

This brings me to reason no.2 that teenagers can be mean;now i have seen many bullies but halloween is a holiday with a couple tricks up its sleeve.Halloween can bring many things candy, joy, good times, but most of all it brings bullies, therefore when halloween comes it brings with it secret identities(masks) and darkness which just give teenagers the opportunity to be much more mean. Also it would make halloween much more serene if teenagers would stay inside and party with friends than to terrorize children for fun.

As mean goes it brings me to my next point that teenagers can be downright stupid especially with feeling influenced by the superiority of being around younger kids ,and when it comes to being safe teens would lose ten times over. When teens are out and about and are literally surrounded by youngsters they can be extremely stupid in what they do, say and influence on to younger children like rude behavior towards parents. That brings me to safety which is a 0 percent in teens these days because holidays to them mean chemical bombs firecrackers and really bad driving.

In conclusion my idea still stands out that teens should not trick-or-treat, because in my opinion i don't think they can handle the responsibility of being in the same place as little kids on a dark and stormy night like halloween.

Sawyer, I understand the points you have made but on some I must disagree. Halloween and Trick-or-treating should be for everyone as it is one of the few holidays that can let anyone dress up, have fun, and go around asking for candy. Why should this time of candy and costumes only be restricted to children?
Teens and young adults vandalizing homes on Halloween is something I have never seen before in my neighborhood. However, I am aware of the problem of teens and young adults throwing toilet paper at houses and causing trouble. Not every one of the people in this age group are out to cause mischief or be destructive. If this was wrong then why have so many pumpkins, houses, and decorations not been vandalized? Sometimes teens are out to relax and party from the stress of school, but I agree with you on some cases.
In the case of teens and young adults terrorizing young children is something I also have never seen in person. Sometimes; scary and horrifying stuff is what Halloween is about. What is the purpose of Halloween other than to go out in a cute, funny, or scary costume and get candy? Why restrict it to young children and middleschoolers? Also, it isn’t always teens taking too much candy, I have seen a group of little kids reach out and grab too much candy each from one bowl, so much that they almost took all of it. Little kids are also likely to take most of the candy and fight over it, not just teens and young adults.
I do agree on your point of teens staying up very late and wandering around knocking on doors asking for candy. However, you could probably keep them away by turning off all of your lights and going to bed or by turning off your porch light. Another idea is to put a sign on your door saying “Do not disturb” or “Going to bed, don’t knock on door or push doorbell”.
You're points are good and definately convincing to some people, but I disagree with some. If Halloween is strictly for children then that wouldn’t be fair to anyone else. Teens, young adults, adults, and elders can have stressful lives and this holiday is a day for some to loosen up and walk around getting treats.Trick-or-Treating should be for everyone, not just kids.

Lezlie, Although you have really good reasons why kids should stop trick-or-treating by the time they are in high school I totally disagree with you.

I agree with you on what’s the point on going trick-or-treating if you are not going to dress up, and that teens tempt to scare little kids. However, just because one kid does it doesn’t mean that others will too.

High schoolers can be to old to be asking candy, but not all of them get a job intill they are like 16. If the middle schoolers get free candy why can’t the high schoolers get some candy too? I mean like, I think they need to stop trick-or-treating by the time they finish freshman year because its like if they are still in middle school and not all of them get a job in high school. The point of halloween, for teens and kids,is getting FREE CANDY!

Teens need to stop by the time they finish their freshman year.
Not all teens tempt to scare little kids, not all of them have jobs, and kids should be treated equally and not just get less then the others. I get that the teens don’t follow the rules but just because one of them does it doesn’t mean others will to.

Ryan, you have amazing ideas and I support that but adults do go trick-or-treating in a way and we don’t really see kids crying because they don’t want to be embarrassed in front of everyone. People can’t even tell you’re a teenager when you’re wearing a mask or anything. Plus most parents understand you’re a teenager and won’t make you wear things like mouse costumes or bee costumes, but keep you from wearing inappropriate things like Jack The Ripper or something.

Not all of us grow out of things, but instead hold on to those things for memories; and how is having teens around not fun? I mean it’s not awesome or anything but I mean the way you’re explaining it, it sounds a lot like to me like you trying to say teens will make kids cry a lot. Because that's not always true. Most kids now a days want to hold in their crying so they don’t get embarrassed.

When you say “it gives you a headache to hear kids crying” I think of that as their crying because they have to go home, and before you know it the crying's over. Some people don’t like video games either. Kids don’t go trick-or-treating just for Skittles; mainly its because they just want candy like Snickers, gum, Pop Rocks, Tootsie Rolls, etc… What I'm trying to get across to you here is kids don’t cry much nowadays especially if you’re not wearing a bee suit or anything cause that would be a bit freaky don’t you think?

Our parents aren’t going to make or probably even let us wear little kid costumes. We won’t be walking around with our moms or anything anyway because they will most likely trust us go around by our self to go trick-or-treating.
In conclusion I think teens should stop trick-or-treating after 9th grade because all those things you said aren’t entirely true. Because life has evolved.

Arguement

Jesse, you have several ideas that are extremely good, but I have to disagree with you saying trick-or-treating should end at the end of middle school. My first reason, is middle schoolers aren’t mature enough to go up to the door and get candy. My next reason, is that when the elders are being scared by young children, the older adults are able to get them in trouble. My last reason, is though some middle schoolers ruin the outside of peoples homes, that is illegal and they can be stopped.

Yes, it would make Halloween better if middle schoolers could enjoy the spirit of Halloween, but most don’t. When the older kids are making their way to the door and a parent opens the door, the parents can notice their costumes. All parents look at the kids costumes. Once the parents notice that the kids aren't wearing a costume, they will most likely turn them down and point them away. The parents (or adults) are able to say no. So when the middle schoolers are on their way up not enjoying the spirit, they can just be turned away by a parent.

Secondly, I understand that it is very disrespectful to terrify the elders, but there are ways to stop them, or punish them so it will not happen again. If there is a kid being a dumb teen scaring an adult, they will get in deep trouble. Imagine if you were an adult that just got startled by a middle schooler? Wouldn't you be furious? I know I would. What I'm saying is when some immature middle schoolers are scaring the elders, there will definitely consequences.

I agree that kids do egg and T.P. people's houses which is hurtful. But it's usually the younger kids that are doing this kind of thing, because they are just mean, immature, or they are just trying to impress their friends. But remember, they can get caught. It is illegal to vandalize other peoples property. It is usually the middle schoolers that do this kind of thing. In conclusion, I'm saying that middle schoolers can get stopped and they are much less mature than high schoolers.

In my opinion, I think middle schoolers are just too immature to be playing pranks, scaring the elderly, and them getting candy without dressing up. You did a great job on your debate.

Lilly you are right, but I have my opinion. You have good reasonings, but I think Halloween shouldn’t stop in Middle School. Why? Because teenagers, should be able to dress up again.
Some teenagers might be immature, but not unless their parents trust them. Few teenagers; get drunk, bring alcohol, or even drugs to parties, but not when they go Trick-or-Treating!A lot of the teenagers that go Trick-or-Treating, are at the stage when they are polite, and are responsible.
Halloween is a day for kids and teenagers. If you think about it, a lot of the teenagers still want to hang out with friends, and dress up for Halloween. It’s a Holiday! When people get older they look back and say “why didn't I do that longer, it was so much fun when I was a kid”. Trick-or-Treating is for everyone to enjoy.
A lot of the teens that I see, are responsible, and act nice around the little kids. Like I said in my second paragraph; a lot of the teens that I see at Halloween are at the stage when they are polite, and respectful. I do agree with you that they hate the idea that they are growing up, so Halloween is the one night where they don’t have to worry about growing up!
This is why I disagree with you about ending the spirit of Trick-or-Treating in eighth grade! I feel like kids/teenagers should have another chance to have fun, not just on a kids fun night, but also every kids favorite Holiday.

One of americas most favorable Holidays..Halloween.A Holiday so great that people don’t know when to stop.because well it’s pretty fun & people don’t want others to ruin it.

In personal opinion I think people should stop at 8th grade.Because it’s around the age that teens start to have problems anger built up from home drama. The teens are tired of the drama & start to take it out on others, this could be a problem to people enjoying the holiday spirit.Plus it won't be very comforting when you see teens running around screaming in anger.also it is unreasonable to have someone restrain that person.

Second of all the 8th graders will start to get ignorant ideas as for costumes and start trying pranks.the ignorant ideas for costumes may not be appropriate for the littler kids to see.
Now for the pranks, one of the biggest problems for teen trick-or-treaters that they hardly care for the little ones. Not only that but there are other people than kids out there such as parents, grandparents & adults. Then the pranks..almost every year there are pranks,to many to count & most the time they are too large to pick up & often unsanitary.

And finally the 8th graders are probably the people the people that you fear most.
The bullies,so this is my final opinion the 8th graders will probably be the people that will ultimately ruin your halloween;so I Suggest to stay away from any high schooler trick-or-treaters so that you don't get in trouble or hurt.

In personal opinion I think that 8th graders should stop trick-or-treating at the grade of 8th
because if not sooner they will start to slower decay the spirit of halloween.

Jonathan, I agree with the fact that most teenagers wear inappropriate costumes, but some don’t. Not all teenagers are bad with costumes; they sometimes even help smaller siblings if their parents can’t. But what you don’t see is that just because some teenagers are goofing off the others get punished even though they are innocent.

So, teenagers can have inappropriate costumes, but how do you you know that they meant to? Some teenagers don’t notice that their costumes might be inappropriate; they aren’t little kids anymore. Even for the ones that wear inappropriate costumes on purpose; they are the the trouble makers, and i’m pretty sure that you could tell the difference from the good ones and the bad ones.

There are a lot of teenagers that would help their little siblings, and don’t you think that it would be a little bit unfair if your little brother or sister got nothing just because the adults don’t like you? It doesn’t even have to be your little brother or sister that you’re helping, it could be your parents that you’re helping by passing out candy. Parents don’t have to make kids suffer just because they’re teenagers, but instead they could just be nice to the small one.

I do also agree that teenagers can mess around a lot, but how can it possibly be so bad that other teenagers get punished? All you have to do is go outside on Halloween night, and you will see that; not only is there barely any teenagers, but you hardly ever see them goof off. How many teenagers do you usually see messing around, it’s a fair question; maybe 1 or 2 out of 10, and when did messing around ever cause trouble? Teenagers are not as bad as you think.

So, now I hope that you understand my reasoning for siding with the high schoolers on this. Not a lot of kids where inappropriate costumes, they help their little siblings or parents most of the time, and hardly ever mess around. And for making a very well made essay, I say congratulations.

Kids should stop trick-or-treating in 8th or 9th grade. (1) because your almost a high schooler. (2) 8th and 9th is the am almost a teen stage. (3) If you are in 8th or 9th grade and you have siblings take them trick-or-treating, or pass out candy to kids who come to your door.

One reason is because some teens would vandalism houses and other protests. I would freak out if my house was covered with egg’s and T.P. Some teens also might run over little kids, so they can get to the door first. Also halloween is a holiday to dress up, get candy and have fun. Most teens just go door to door wearing street clothes begging for candy.

My next reason is some teens actually do put some effort in what they dress up as. They also may still enjoy going door to door and dressing up. So am not saying after 9th no more. If you think you can behave for goodness sake go trick-or-treating, but for you trouble makers. You know who you are. Just hang up your bag put your costume up and stay home.

My final reason is because 8th and 9th graders are not to the point where more of the body is showing clothes. When teens go out wearing inappropriate clothes. It teaches kids to be just like them. Kids and some teens just want to dress up and have fun, without seeing egged houses, in poate clothes, and college kids begging for candy.

I’m really not saying after 9th everyone needs to stop trick-or-treating. If you are a responsible teen. Who won't do any of the bad things I said in my previous paragraphs. You can probably stop at 10th. If you want 10th to be the last grade you go trick-or-treating. Then great just think of the little kids and please stop at 10th, 9th,or even 8th. Have a wonderful year and…

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!! :)

Halloween Debate/argument against Lezlie
well yes I agree with you that some teenagers are immature ,but high schoolers arent even out of school yet ,so i think they should be able to trick-or-treat. Just listen to what i have to say and maybe you will change your mind.
Ok when you say “scare little kids” little kids trick-or-treat with their parents and teanagers wont scare little kids if there parents are there, but if you're not talking about little kids and you're talking about kids like middle schoolers that don't trick-or-treat with their parents then isn't that the point of halloween to get scared and get candy? In my opinion high schoolers should also get candy because they deserve it because their working their butts off so they can go to college.
High schoolers are so stressed, worried , scared ,and you want them to bye their own candy? That takes all of the fun out of it! In my opinion high schoolers are still kids. They are around 15 to 18 they can’t even drink yet.
I think high schoolers go trick-or-treating usually just to spend time with friends or for the candy. High schoolers dress up cause its funny;but teens definitely dress up for halloween because its one of the only days you can wear whatever you want and you won't get judged for it even if it is inappropriate.
High schoolers should trick-or-treat. I enjoyed your story,I hope I changed your mind,I hope you enjoyed my story too.

Hey tori p I think that some high schoolers should have fun to but they should act respectful around little kid and adults in the neighborhood and do the safe thing the everybody else is doing, high schooler should enjoy halloween not make it miserable the other elementary and middle school students. Hollow tori what if the other high schoolers and other middle, and elementary student don’t do halloween.
Hey tori I lince I like your Idea but what if high schoolers thing are not ok like making little kids afraid or how about when highschooler trip little kids on purpoue and grab their candy and ron away from the, sometimes high schoolers like through water on little and big kids to.

arguing against Nikki F.

Nikki, although you have really good ideas, I totally disagree with you.
My first reason is, you are saying Halloween is for children, and how its a childhood memory. Well high school kids are not kids anymore. And you are hoping that high school kids are going to behave on Halloween night? Most likely they won’t, because it’s natural for teenagers to scare or even take all of the candy from the little kids.
My second reason is; costumes. You were right about that, as people get older they start to wear inappropriate costumes or even scary ones. When teenagers wear scary costumes, there most likely going to scare someone (most likely a little kid), and that would just ruin their night. And then you’ve got the girls and even some guys who start wearing inappropriate clothes once they are in eighth grade, and that's a bad example to little kids.
My third reason is, Once you are in eighth grade you start to grow up. You start to want to hang out with your friends more than your family, and there is nothing wrong with that. So they start to go to parties or sleepovers. And they go Trick-Or-Treating in groups usually, and they take all the candy. I mean like, who would want to say to a four year old “ i'm sorry, but we have no more candy” to the point where they only have about ten pieces of candy, compared to teenagers who get bags of candy.
My fourth reason is, little kids have very good imagination. And as they get older they start to lose it, so their imagination is to be funny. So they do stupid things to be funny. For example; if a teenager is having a party they could bring alcohol, or even drugs to try to be cool looking, and they could get in a lot of trouble for that.
Last but not least, my final reason why people should stop Trick-Or-Treating by the end of middle school is because, parents who are giving out candy most likely won’t give candy to older kids because they want enough candy for younger kids. Then the teenagers get mad, and might take it out on the parents or themselves. And that's not good.
That is why I disagree with you Nikki. Trick-Or-Treating should end in Middle School in my opinion.

colby b. said...

jonathan, you have very good reasons why teens should be stopped at the grade of 8th.but there is why most cities have not banned teens from there cities. it because of there siblings need them to be there for protection and safety so they dont get kidnapped on the holiday we all like.my first reason is that what will happen when the littler siblings go missing? what happens when they don’t come home from trick-or-treating after 10 o,clock?well these are the reasons teens could help their siblings on the night we all like a lot.one is if there sibling get killed in an accident or a car reck.second reason is what happens if they get lost and don’t know there way back?or if they got taken by a complete stranger?my third reason is there siblings can’t always protect them self so they count on there older siblings to protect them from harm. my forth reason is when there done trick-or-treating and a group of teens come out of the blue and tries to steal there candy that is when the older sibling can stop them from doing such things and other.
it just good to have someone with the littler ones on a dark night like halloween.

conclusion pharagraph
all my reasons put together just means one thing basically that always have two people together on halloween and never split up cause you or your freind [or sibling] could get lost and never be foud ever again.

I think people should stop doing halloween either at the end of eighth grade or before they start going into high school because high schoolers start wearing appropriate costumes, or bullying little kids and mean to adults. reason One that
people should stop in eighth grade, because when you get in to high school they take it to far. The reason why I think we should stop in eighth grade, because when you're little you don’t know what to expect while trick-or treating.when your in middle school you should enjoy the fun” while you can because if you don’t you won’t remember the fun you had on halloween. The second reason I think you should stop doing halloween in eighth grade is because when you're in highschool you don’t mostly enjoy it. When you're in highschool you get too carried away with your custom inappropriate close. The third reason why you should stop trick-or treating on halloween is because high schoolers treat kids the way they're not supposed to be treated by. when you're in high you about the rule that people make high school students worried about driving a car rather than getting candy from the neighbors .In conclusion I think high schoolers shouldn’t trick-or-treat because their mean to little kids don’t wear inappropriate custom and and they take it to far.

Lorelei K. responding to Sophie N.

Sophie you have lots of imaginative ideas, but I disagree with your opinion that Trick-or-treating should end by 8th grade. My first reason is that kids never grow out of trick-or treating. My second reason is that your partents can let you know what is appropoiat if you can not choose properly as an 8th grader . Lastly, most kids are respectfull and will arrive back home in a timly hour.

First off, I agree that middle scoolers love trick-or-treating (I am one). The thing I disagree on is that they should not stop at 8th grade. I think that middle schoolers still want the fun of getting all that candy to eat. Also, they like seeing all the houses decorated up when collecting candy.

Second reason is that as an 8th grader, you should be in control and know what is right and wrong. I know that not all kids will do the right thing but most will follow the right guidlines. I feel that 8th graders now that they can always go to the store and buy more candy than to rob off a front door step.

Last reason is most parents will know when their kids will be home. In most cases they will be out with the whole family. Trick-or-treating as a family leaves out all the trouble that an 8th grader would get into by themself.

Middle Schoolers should trick-or-treat. My first reason is that kids never grow out of trick-or treating. My second reason is that your partents can help if you are not mature enough to select an appropriate costue. The last reason is that most kids will be incharge of when they arrive back home.

Justin H. respond to Wyatt D.

Wyatt, I disagree with what age kids should stop trick-or-treating, you said never and I say at your freshman year. My first reason is that teens may not be bad but its hard to help yourself from messing around. Two, they are old enough that they can go out and do other stuff they don’t need Halloween. My last argument is you said not all teens were bad then you said “it seems legit if teenagers are scaring people.”
Yes, not all teens are bad, but its hard to keep yourself from messing around. Its especially hard if you’re with your friends. With friends you would be more encouraged to egg someone’s house, or stuff like that.
In high school you have more freedom to hang with friends, so its not like you are losing something because you are older or taller its more like you grew out of it and moved on to different stuff (like clothes).
My last argument is that your last reason stated that “it seems legit if teenagers are scaring people” , but your first argument says the opposite that not all teenagers are bad. So I don’t know if you think they’re supposed to good or polite or scare people; It sounds like you are supporting both.
One is its hard to keep yourself from messing around with friends. Two, they are old enough they can do other stuff they don’t need Halloween. Lastly two of your arguments are saying something totally opposite. Those reasons are why I disagree with you.

initial post I think kids should stop trick-or-treating once they are in high school. I have three reasons for this, one is costumes that older kids would wear could scare the younger kids. Two is I don’t think that high schoolers
10/20/14
art in the spirit of Halloween. Three kids in high school can go buy a whole bunch of junk food and hang out with there friends they don’t need to go from door to door with the chance of scaring little kids.
My first reason was the costumes that high schoolers might wear could be scary or innapropriate. Halloween is supposed to be fun for little kids not scare them. I have been at high school waiting for the bus and a lot of high schoolers need to be more modest about what they wear.
My second reason is I don’t think high schoolers are in the spirit of halloween anymore. They don’t do Halloween so the can dress up and get candy, they would do it to play pranks on people, for high schoolers its more trick than it is treat.
My final reason is that high schoolers have more freedom than middle or elementry schoolers do. They can hang out with friends more, some can drive to places on there own so there parents don’t have to take them. So instead of doing Halloween they can go to a friends house and hang out so they still get food but there’s no chance of scaring little kids.
That’s why I think you should stop doing Halloween when you get in high school. My first reason was because high schoolers could wear costumes and and big so that can scare little kids. My second reason was because I don’t think high schoolers are in the spirit of Halloween, and three High schoolers can go hang out with friends they don’t need Halloween.

green core eliel g arguement against justin

justin you are right about high schoolers doing pranks on random people or scaring the turd outta kids
also the inapropriate costumes are very common in Halloween specially on girls(no offense)like seriously dressing like that and walking down the street where little kids can see them easly.

I disagree about having a car to go to places because not all high schoolers have a car.I also disagree with the fact that its only for kids you know it can also be for middle schoolers they should stop at 8th grade because when they get into high school they will make lots of trouble.

Scary costumes thats usual because the costumes get made by people and get sold in stores so basically its not the high schoolers fault for the innapropriate/scary.Teenagers play lots of pranks all right but sometimes they take to the extreme.for example egging or toilet papering someones house they could get a fine;but also there is a lack of detail you didnt say what could happen or why,my belief is that they should stop at 8th grade.

You should have also said what is the main reason that you are doing this and how can you relate to this.

Lezlie, Although you have really good reasons why kids should stop trick-or-treating by the time they are in high school,I totally disagree with you.
I agree with you on what’s the point on going trick-or-treating if you are not going to dress up, and that teens tempt to scare little kids, but isn’t that the point. However, just because one kid does it doesn’t mean that others will too.
High schoolers can be to old to be asking for candy, but not all of them get a job intill they are like 16. If the middle schoolers and small kids get free candy why can’t the high schoolers get some candy too? I mean like, they need to stop trick-or-treating by the time they finish freshman year because its like if they are still in middle school and not all of them get a job in high school. The point of halloween, for teens and kids,is getting FREE CANDY! Kids need to think about candy and having fun in halloween, not worrying about that next year they are not allowed to go trick-or-treating.
Teens need to stop by the time they finish their freshman year.
Not all teens tempt to scare little kids, not all of them have jobs, and kids should be treated equally and not just get less then the others. I get that the teens don’t follow the rules but just because one of them does it doesn’t mean others will to. Teens need to stop by the time they finish freshman year.

Jayden.M said...

Jayden.M response to Selena D
Selena I like all your reasoning and they are not bad, however I disagree I think that kids should stop trick-or-treating at the end of middle school. My first reason is because high schoolers start to become not very mature at all. The little kids need a chance to get candy but why not earlier. Parents tend to only give it to the little kids because parents believe that the little kids should get the candy .My last reason is, High schoolers wear inappropriate clothes even at the end of middle school so it is a perfect time for them to stop before all the little kids have to see them.
My first reason is that high schoolers lose the spirit in the middle of high school but at the end of middle school they start not being very mature they cause trouble a scare little kids. Kids were allowed to go out trick-or-treating without their parents having to worry but now parents aren’t letting their kids go out alone, Now because of all the high schoolers who aren't being very mature. Kids have to go with their parents and that isn't very fun. High schoolers aren’t a good of a example for the little kids.
My second reason is little kids need to have fun on halloween and a big part of it is the candy there are a lot of kids but with all the high schoolers who go trick-or-treating there isn’t that much candy to give out, so when the little kids come to someone’s house there isn’t anymore candy and that is sad for them. High schoolers can go buy candy when they want they have the money but the little kids don’t so this is the one night where kids can get all the candy they want. High schooler’s should not trick-or-treat and give the little kids the chance to get all the candy.
My last reason is high schooler’s start to dress inappropriate at the end of middle school that gives the perfect time for them to stop trick-or-treating. It doesn’t mean High schooler’s have to stop dressing up it just mean that they shouldn’t trick-or-treat that way the little kids don’t have to see there inappropriate costumes. High schoolers will tend to go trick-or-treating just to scare the little kids and take their candy that will make them look bad around parents or grandparents, if at the end of middle school kids stop trick-or-treating then they wouldn’t have to get all those mean remarks and faces from parents. At the end of middle school is when kids should stop trick-or-treating.
Kids should stop trick-or-treating at the end of middle school. High schooler’s start to become not mature at all and not parent wants their kids to see high schooler’s doing bad stuff. Kids need to be able to get candy but their isn’t all the candy in the world to pass out on halloween with high schooler’s that makes it even worse especially if they aren’t being mature. High schooler dress inappropriate and tend to scare little kids and take their candy even around parents and grandparents and thats not a good reputation for the high schooler’s.

Response to Lezlie G.

Lezlie, you have lots of great ideas, but I disagree that kids should stop trick-or-treating in middle school. My first reason is high school kids still dress up because some love getting their costumes ready and then finally wearing them. My second reason is yes, some high schoolers can buy their own candy, but why would they when they can get free candy by trick-or-treating, plus it could be a great bonding time with your friends or siblings ( if you have any siblings). Finally, just because someone is growing up does not mean they don’t still want to have fun only some lose spirit, but i think Halloween is a great holiday for middle schoolers and high schoolers as long as they keep it safe.

First of all, high school kids still love to dress up. Some high schoolers love getting their costumes ready and then wearing them on halloween. Some love the rush of making or buying them in time, although you do have a point some don’t dress up and middle schoolers do i still think the majority of high schoolers do dress up.

My second reason is why should high schoolers buy candy. Why should high schooler buy candy if you can just go trick-or-treating and get it for free. Isnt that the spirit of halloween to dress up and you get candy? In my opinion if you put real effort and time into your costume or if it looks like you did you deserve candy.

Finally my third reason is just because their growing up doesn't mean they still don't want to have fun.
Some high schoolers aren't in it for the candy some just naturally love dressing up and hanging out with friends walking around. Some people want to feel like their young again and this is like the only holiday we have left to act like children.

Lezlie like I said you have tons of great ideas, but I still disagree with you. My reasons for this are number one high schoolers still love to dress up. Reason number two is why should high schoolers buy candy if they can just go trick-or-treating and get it for free. Finally reason number three is just because high schoolers are growing up doesnt mean they cant have fun anymore. You have great reasons but i still believe people should trick-or-treating around high school.

I liked your reasons, like to save candy for little kids and to not scare little kids. I believe that the little girl reason was a great point but a little dramatic. But stopping at 6th grade is kind of weird. Look at all the 8th graders walking around being responsible and safe. But, you are right that some older kids do intend to scare kids. Also, some 6th graders and not “independent”.
My first reason is that kids need freedom and special nights to stay up late and to even ask for candy. Kids that are in 6th grade usually are hipper when halloween, I was too. It is agreeable that you don't get as excited but you still look forward to it. One thing kids and teens need is to stay up late while eating candy. That sounds like a lot of fun to me so why would you stop trick-or-treating when you are in 6th grade?
My second reasons kids should stop trick-or-treating, is that not all older kids cause trouble. If you look closely, there are a lot of older kids trick-or-treating. Then think about all the other older kids on other streets, states and even countries trick-or-treating. You got to realise that just because you see one kid that is older than a 6th grade doing something bad, doesn't mean all of the others will too.
My final reason that 6th graders should be able to trick-or-treat is that some kids like to have fun with their friends and have fun running around and staying up late. Older kids often have lots of energy so why take it away from them? As a parent what is better than your teen coming home and asking to go to bed, nothing! Which is why kids should stop trick-or-treating in high school.
In conclusion, I honestly believe that kids should stop trick-or-treating in high school because they need to have a lot of fun

Many say that people should stop Trick-or-Treating around the end of high school or middle school. However, I strongly disagree. My belief is that people should only stop Trick-or-Treating when they are no longer able to. The reasons I have for this belief are that Trick-or-Treating is for everyone of all ages, the disabled should not go out, and that this holiday is about horror and creepiness making it the perfect time to dress up in a scary costume and getting candy from the neighborhood.
First, everyone, young and old, are able to Trick-or-Treat in my eyes. Doing this can let neighbors meet the people living around them better, and not just know the children and parents. Many neighborhoods have older people that don’t get out too often just for a holiday. Secondly, everyone in all of their lives should be able to go out and have fun wearing a costume and saying “Trick-or-Treat”.
The disabled and frail are the ones that I would keep away from Trick-or-Treating. These people are ones with serious injuries, serious diseases, and just aren’t able to walk around with screaming kids, running people, and terror filling costumes. It is possible of dying from fright and going into shock that could eventually kill a person. Serious injuries like broken legs, recovering from a bad injury, or being confined to a bed would keep the person from enjoying the full experience. Diseases could be wearing down on someone if he or she is out and about, and others might catch the disease as well if it is contagious.
Teens and university students scaring the little ones just shows that these people have the spirit of Halloween. Scaring others and creepy horrifying things are what define Halloween; Not letting teens, university students, and middle school students out to dress up and Trick-or-Treat is basically restricting people that are going out to also show what Halloween is all about.
People of all ages should be allowed to go Trick-or-Treating except people with restrictions like injuries and diseases. Anyone should be allowed to go and have fun, meet neighbors, and be able to scare others. These are the reasons that I believe that people should always have the chance to Trick-or-Treat no matter how old they are.

Rebuttal Post Responding To Griffin E.

Griffin, your argument was quite amusing, but i still disagree. High schoolers are sometimes nice, and sometimes work hard, but you know what there are still some that are inappropriate. Secondly when you’re a teenager you can set a bad example and start making little kids catch on. My last reason is that youngsters want to have halloween like high schoolers did for 13 or 14 years.

My first reason is that high schoolers are inappropriate. Like you said in your argument “There isn’t many high schoolers that are inappropriate” I understand that, but other people will catch on and soon there will be a lot more than we expect. There are some high schoolers who follow rules (hopefully) and respect peoples space and all, but the majority of them are inappropriate.

Secondly when you’re a teenager and having fun and not doing pranks that’s fine, but when they do that they start to turn that fun into bad fun or they start to terrorize kids and egg houses it becomes a problem. Most likely little kids might see people doing this and catch on. There are some high schoolers that have innocent fun and do the right thing, but mostly they are a bad example and shouldn’t be trick-or-treating.

My last reason is kids should be able to have their halloween fun. Like you said “Halloween is a rare holiday let high schoolers enjoy that holiday” I think the same, but youngsters should have that halloween fun instead of the big kids stealing that fun. High schoolers might want to have that halloween holiday, but didn’t they get to do halloween for 13 years already? So let the youngsters get that chance to have halloween spirit.

High Schoolers shouldn’t be trick-or-treating! They’re inappropriate to people and little kids. Also they have fun,but turn that fun into terrorizing little kids who want to have the fun of halloween. My last reason is that little kids want to have fun for the 13 years they get to do it. I mean didn’t high schoolers get to have that rare halloween holiday for their years and not get annoyed by selfish high schoolers? I mean you make good points and facts, but high schoolers shouldn’t be trick-or-treating.

Halloween debate: rebuttal to Lorelei K.

Lorelei, you do have some great points but I still agree with Sophie that trick-or-treating should end in eighth grade. The reasons for this is because you just want it for the candy, you will abuse the privilege, and you don't fully enjoy the real meaning of Halloween.

Many kids grow out of trick-or-treating around eighth grade as their interests change. Most people like the idea of Halloween because it’s a free candy goldmine. It is very easy for a high schooler to go out and get a job then a middle schooler. This is a lot better for the younger kids because they get the benefit of getting the candy that they can't afford on their own. While the high schooler can just go out and buy the candy with the money they are able to earn.

The idea of walking around late at night pretending to be someone you aren't, sadly is tempting to teens. It is easy for them to get away with scaring them because their parents aren't there to stop them. But with younger kids adults are going to be watching them, to make sure they are okay, so it is difficult for them to get away with it. Middle schoolers are not as big offenders of this as high schoolers. Middle schoolers are still at a young age where they support the real meaning of Halloween. When older kids don't appreciate it, which leads to abusing the privilege.

Teens also forget the fun in trick-or-treating. Little kids see it as getting to dress up as some awesome person and get candy, but older kids see it as boring and ridiculous. They would rather go to a party and hang out with friends. These older kids are growing out of theses holidays and just loose interest. Middle schoolers have not matured enough to lose interest, although some have. They still like to dress up and say “trick-or-treat” at every door. Sure they would love to go to a party but they would miss out on this night.

Lorelei, I love your reasons but I still think trick-or-treating should end at fourteen. The reasons why you should stop is because teenagers do it for the candy, most of them abuse the privilege, also older kids don't have the spirit of Halloween. Younger kids don't want to worry about the older ones at their are night of fun. Stopping trick-or-treating at the end of eighth grade, or at the age 14, is a better benefit for children that are younger.

Makenna C red core Halloween debate rebuttal against Samantha T
Samantha, while you have many good points you’ve brought up for my friends in this category there’s a few things you’re still not seeing. Like the fact that in some places, like my own neighborhood, teens and young adults vandalizing other peoples property is a problem. Also that people can honestly dress up for any holiday. And not all teens follow the rules.
In some places, like your neighborhood teens and vandalism isn’t a problem at all. But there are always those few unlucky neighborhoods that teens seem to target for their T.P.ing and egging. I’ve walked around for Halloween every year now (even my first halloween, it was great I was Tinker Bell and my brother was Peter Pan.) And every year I have seen some house with eggs in the bushes or toilet paper hanging from the trees. Some cities have seen this so serious that they’ve banned teens from trick-or-treating at all.
You say that Halloween is the only holiday where people can dress up and enjoy being 100% themselves, well that’s not true. I’ve seen people of plenty dress up for Christmas, valentines day, thanksgiving, and even any old regular monday. “I don’t judge others. I say if you feel good with what you’re doing, let your freak flag fly.” -Sarah Jessica Parker. It’s one of my favorite quotes, and I believe it applies to everyone, whenever they want it to.(apply)
Yes, teens, and adults alike, have stressful days. I have stressful days already for crying out loud. But that stress comes from hard work and chores; two thing I hate. But hard work and chores leads to money, money that teens and adults can use to buy their own candy. Which is always a great reward.
People should stop trick-or-treating in eighth grade. My first reason is that not all teens will do the right thing. My second reason is that there are plenty of occasions for dressing up. And my third reason is that teens and adults will most likely have the money for candy anyway. You have made excellent points but I still believe teens should stop trick-or-treating in eighth grade.

Alexia, you have good points but I disagree. My reasons are high schoolers do have jobs, they don’t usually take the time to dress up, and they probably want to go to parties instead.

My first reason is that high schoolers do have jobs. You said, “High schoolers can be too old to be asking candy, but not all of them get a job until they are like 16.” Actually, by law you can get a job at 15. This means once you hit high school you are able to get a job. That is not fair to the middle and elementary schoolers because we can’t get a job. High schoolers can just go buy their own candy. All the middle schoolers and elementary schoolers can’t.

My second reason is they don’t usually take the time to dress up. You said “The point of halloween, for teens and kids,is getting FREE CANDY!” Well, it’s not. Kids love dressing up and going door to door. My mom told my little siblings if she could just buy them a big bag of candy instead of trick-or treating, and they said no. This proves that kids would rather experience the trick-or-treating, rather than just eating candy. So those high schoolers that just want free candy, usually don’t dress up because they don’t have the spirit, they only have the stomach.

My last reason is high schoolers usually want to go to parties rather than trick-or-treating. I realize that 10th-12th grade go to parties, but wouldn’t the 9th graders want to party too?Just imagine, you walk into your high school and the older kids are going to go to a party. Would’nt you want to go too? You might even have your own party to show how cool you are. What if someone caught you trick-or- treating? You would probably be embarrassed.

High schoolers should not be trick-or-treating. My reasons are they have jobs, they don’t usually take the time to dress up, and they probably want to go to parties.

Josh your ideas are just wonderful, but as captivating as they may seem I beg to differ.I know that sometimes tennagers can be nice responsible and kind they can also be the exact opposite.
The model teens may seem peachy-keen and perfect but then you have the punks, rebels, and the bullies who will do anything to ruin holiday spirit for every single person in a five mile radius. What I mean by this is teens can be completely irresponsible because holidays to them means illegal fireworks and unsafe driving.
Also this brings me to my next point of being down-right mean teens do it all the time I’ve seen it myself and it is NOT fun.So it brings me to saying in conclusion of this paragraph that teens are very mean

I am also informed in a manner of some sort that big brothers and sisters can go out on halloween with little siblings but thats only about forty percent and that other sixty scare children vandalize property and destroy things for fun.
In conclusion I think that teens out of eighth grade should not trick -or-treat because they can be completely unpredictable and in some form dangerous

Hailey yes you are right, Most high schoolers don’t work and yes they might be saving money for college and might be stressed. But its not fair for the little kids. Also I agree that it might take away the fun from high schoolers but don't they have other things to do. High schoolers have way more advantages than the younger kids.

I honestly dont think its fair for the younger kids. Why ? because all the older kids can take all the cady and there wouldn't be enough for the younger ones. Imagine that when you were younger all the older kids took all the candy and there wouldn't be any left for you how would you feel? You wouldn't like that would you, imagine how the younger ones would feel.

Yes it might take away the fun from the high schoolers but wouldn't they have other things to do instead of going trick-or-treating. Like go to some haunted houses, or to a Halloween party and spend time with there friends. People keep saying that it would take the fun away from the high schoolers and thats the only time they get to spend time with there friends. But can't you do other things instead of going trick-or-treating.

Also the High schoolers have more advantages than the younger kids. They can just take a huge handful because they have way bigger hands. Or they can run faster so they can get to the next house and take all the candy. They can even just take the whole bowl of candy and not leave any for the rest of the kids.

You are right in somethings but not all things. It might take there fun away but would it really.I mean most kids in high school dont even trick-or-treat anymore. They go to haunte houses or partys with there friends.

Tori I think high schooler should stop at high school thats because they get too carried away and are meant to adult’ ware cloth that does not look right on them and grab candies from little kids .

Tori Ilike your information but I still think you're wrong what If high schoolers go to the store and get some candy that’s for the high schoolers don’t have to take candy from little kids.high schoolers these days are just lazy and don’t run to the store to get some candy from the store so they just take candy from little kids.

Tory the second reason why I think that high schoolers should stop in eighth grade is because they get too carried away and think that they can’t talk back to adults because they think they're older than them. high schoolers think they can just teepee someone's house when they're not home or the person just left

“Tori I understand what you're saying but again I still don’t know where you're getting at heres what youve said to me old is when you should stop trick or treating here's what I think high schoolers should stop in eighth grade .

tori what if some high schoolers blend in you no those that want to help other adults

hand out candy, other just want make adults and little kids miserable and also ruin their fun of trick-or treating every halloween.

Tori my third reason is that some high schoolers on halloween don’t fallow dress close rules and just make there own custom that is inappropriate for high school . some high schoolers were inappropriate custom just to act cool and show off to other people.

“Tory for conclusion i think that when everybody gets get to eighth grade they should stop doing trick or treating because when they get into eighth grade they will just act really rude to adults, take candy from little kids and wear clothes that doesn’t look right on them.

jonathan, the fact that you have very good reasons it is important that i point out the weak spots.when kids go out on halloween and are all alone they wish they didn’t go out on their own because they hear very creepy noises and they may get scared that a group of teenagers are following them and might want to stop where they are.

teens or high schoolers can go out on a night like this but some just want to scare, we can take care of those bad teens and fill those spots in very fast and be done with the problem. when it is halloween we want to have fun and take care of those bad teens and just have fun trick- or- treating.when we go out of the house or any [one]the house might get egged or even rolled with toilet paper by teens. we can change that if we teach them the right way .there are still some good teens out there and all they do is help there little siblings or people go trick or treating and be very help full.

jonathan, as you can see i put a little both of good and bad teens in my paragraphs
and i wanted you to know that there can be both of each.and that when halloween comes i will be a trick or treator and if you cant remember im the guy who sits next to you in the computer lab.my sister is in high school and she said she will not be trick or treating but she said that she would be watching over me.

Rebuttal against Grace.S

Grace i see what you are trying to say but i still do think that trick-or-treating should end in high school although you say that ‘middle schoolers aren’t mature enough to go up to the door and get candy’. Thats wrong because most middle schoolers are mature enough to go up to a door and ask for candy. but most meaning 9 out of 10 high schoolers can't they always have to ruin halloween for little kids.

My first reason being that most middle schoolers are just 12 or 13 not like in highschool where you might even be 18. the point is , is that almost all high school people will go around toilet papering peoples houses , and middle schoolers don't terrify elders they might scare their little siblings but thats not as bad as going around a saying that they will because scaring people is most likely to happen in highschool because high schoolers can't go around without cause trouble just because its fun to or they aren't mature enough.

My second reason is that i do get that the ideal age group to look at when a prank is pulled would be middle schoolers but i do disagree with you saying that it would be middle schoolers but most pranks that are pulled at night are by high schoolers just because the do want to impress friends and act cool and stuff but just because people (teenagers) egg or tp houses does not make you popular or fancy its just being rude and setting a bad example for yourself.

My last reason is that yes a lot f people in middle school do egg a tp peoples house but the majority of the pranks that go on are because high schoolers and them trying to act cool , but i still do disagree with you saying that people should stop trick-or-treating in middle school because honestly we just got out of elementary school and we are only 12 or 13 so we are still considered little kids to whereas if we were in highschool we would be 15 or 16. People should not trick-or-treat when they are in high school simply because i think high schoolers can not handle going out at night and not causing trouble or doing pranks.I say this because i have senn tennagers toliet paper peoples houses and pull other inappropriate pranks as well.

Green core argument
Colby your argument to Jonathan is good, but I still disagree. Teens should not be trick-or-treating. Most teens have little brothers and were inappropriate clothing, also teens don’t even like to help their little siblings. Last mot teens are trouble makers.
Tens might not notice there clothing is inappropriate, however most teens have little brothers and sisters and they should know. In that case it would mean that they are doing it on purpose. You also said ”I’m pretty sure that you could tell the difference from the good ones and the bad ones.” but that is the problem. If you had a random teen knock your door how could you tell; That is why most teens will were inappropriate clothes, even if they don’t mean to they will still be seen as troublemakers.
Most teanagers don’t want to help there little siblings, instead they want to have fun. How many times have your older siblings helped you out? Most would only do it if there parents forced them to. They end up being pretty grumpy, and that makes it pretty hard to want to give them candy. I also know that most teams given the chance would give candy to the kids thust giving parents that job and them not being publicly shamed. It would be a win, win.
It is true that all teams do not mess around, however it is not as high as you think. Most teens will not egg someones house, but be mean to someone or goof around. Even something that seem totally normal to them is not to the other age groups. Do you remember when you were younger and how someone would do something you thought was rude, but now you might do it all the time. Things that you think are perfectly normal, might not be for others.
In the end I disagree with you, teens should not be trick-or-treating. They don’t know what's appropriate for other age groups. They also will not have any fun helping their little siblings, and they mess around a lot ton halloween. Teens just bring trick to much in trick-or-treating.

Rebuttal for : Lorelei K.

Lorelei, you have many good reasons in your arguement, but I am still going to have to disagree with you. Based on what you said “kids never grow out of Trick - or - Treating” , well they do. Kids get to a certain age to where they just stop going door to door asking for candy. Also some high school kids don’t even ask their parents what costume is right or wrong. Some kids don’t even pay attention to what time it is, they just go back home whenever they want.

My first reason is all the older kids can get as much candy as they want by going to a local store and getting some, without ruining anybody's night. Also I agree with you about them liking to see the decorations but however, they add a little something more to to the house. For example putting garbage in the yard, throwing toilet paper into their trees, egging the doors, etc.

Secondly, high school kids are very impolite when it comes to asking for candy. Most of them just say “ Give me candy” and are done. Some of them don’t even come for the candy, they just come for the scares. For those type of people that is the only thing that interests them.

Lastly, eighth graders are least likely to get in trouble because they are much more responsible than high schoolers. Eighth graders actually pay attention to what time it is and where they need to meet their parent when they are finished Trick - or - Treating. High school kids are nothing compared to that.

I just want you to understand that ninth graders should not be Trick - or - Treating what so ever. This is Because they are most likely to cause property damage, scare little children, and be rude and obnoxious when asking for candy when they can just go buy it. Middle schoolers aren't like that at all. This is why kids should stop after eighth grade so no problems are caused on Halloween.

10/20/14
art in the spirit of Halloween.

Eliel G. rebuttal against (Justin.H)

Good initial post but i still disagree. They should stop trick-or-treating in 8th grade reasons well because as i told you when they’re in high school they can get in lots of trouble.

Reason #1
Majority of High schoolers are’nt really responsible to go trick-or-treating why because they prank and also can do harm.
when they’re out they go nuts and also dont respect others as much.
Also adults will think that they are trying to take as much candy as possible.

Reason #2
High school people are also probably up to something when trick-or treat.
they can also be planning bad for example doing graffiti which is not ok or maybe plan to steal something.

Reason #3
High school kids are also going to be in huge trouble if they do something like that they can get a fine and also go to prison.
8th grade is the ideal grade/time to stop trick-or-treating.

I think that teenagers should stop trick- or- treating in 8th grade.

I agree that kids need to have fun but, there are many different ways kids can have fun. When you’re older you can go and do other things and hang out with friends instead of trick-or-treating.

When you say “As a parent what is better than your teen coming home and asking to go to bed, nothing!” I don’t agree because you’re not a Parent! Parents always say things like that but that doesn’t mean that's the best thing they can do. They could always do better than just going to bed.

Kids should stop in 6th grade because some kids are independent, they can always have fun doing something else, and the best thing they can do is go to bed, No! kids can do way better. that's why kids should stop trick-or-treating in 6th grade.

There are many ages for trick-or-treating. You can basically stop when you want but if you go on for too long it might be strange to society.I personally think you stop at the end of grade because typically you don't get into it. You usually just walk with a pillow case asking for candy.

My first reason is because they make costumes that aren't thought out. One thing I find is kids asking for candy as pillow case man and hoodie boy. This is usually around freshmen because they are too cool for costumes. My other reson is they arent very polite, like they expect candy no matter what.

Another reason to stop trick-or-treating in eighth grade is you’re too old. You're in high school and shouldn’t be dressing up and running around with little kids. they want candy that they can't have if you take it where as you can buy enough candy to last a while for ten dollars.

My last reason is you are going to make mistakes. you're going to see that five year old thats too easy to scare, or that one house with rude owner. high schoolers especially make these mistakes.

don't go trick- or- treating after high school, you will make stupid mistakes and you will cause the younger ones to have less candy and you wont have good costumes so don’t go trick-or-treating after high school.

I do agree that when teens go out with there friends . But its what they do with there friends that is bad I do not mind if they're out with there friends .

and i'm not saying that its legal for teens to go out on trick-or-treating .But they don't care if kids are watch all they care about is how look .They think its cool to do though thing in front of kids then they see what they're doing and think thats ok to do well its not .

And now lets back up to inappropriate costumes teen and there costumes .Have went up so much there not even costumes there outfits that they wear on a everyday life . And whos going to send their middle school kid to go trick-or-treating all by himself know one because something could happen they could be kidnapped or something . kids should stop trick-or-treating at the year of 8th grade .

Because teenager turn it in two something introportit .

Why I think kids should stop trick-or-treating . Because some single mother or senior citizens are afraid of 6 feet tall kids wanting candy . High schoolers teenagers want to go out with there friends and do stuff . High school kids want attention everyone else so they don't really know what they're doing after a while . Like I said some girl or guys like to just stay home and hang out with friends watch scary movies or just eat candy

in the old days people had a book that would tell us when to stop

trick-or-treating on we got nothing we only got our parents to tell us . No one can resist or fined for trick-or-treating , now back to the introportit costumes to many teen wear them do they care whos looking no they just think that wear them they will be cool , but having little kids seeing them kids think that its ok to wear them when its not . I think you should only let teen out on halloween to take their little sister or brother on halloween if the parents are doing something on that night can can’t change .

Now if a big muscled guy came and push a little kid in front of me I would be mad and tell that guy to come back apologize to the little kid . Then have someone pop out and scare us I just think thats wrong . That they need to be reasonable with them self and know that was wrong .

Im not saying that teens should not go trick-or-treating just its the best to stop . or go out with friend at there house and stay in for the night or see family , thats why i think trick or treating said stop at 8th grade year.

Selena I still don’t agree with you kids should stop trick-or-treating at the end of middle school. My first reason is that kids should/can dress up and get their costumes ready but they shouldn’t go out trick-or-treating. My next reason is that high schoolers love getting free candy and not having to pay with their own money but they aren’t nice and respectful ( at least most ). My final reason is that high schoolers may not of lost the spirit yet but they aren’t mature enough to go out and trick-or-treat especially around little kids. I believe that kids should stop trick-or-treating at the end of middle school.

I believe that high schoolers can still dress up but they should not go out trick-or-treating. High schoolers wear inappropriate clothing and wear scary masks .etc. just to scare little kids that isn’t mature at all and parents aren’t going to let their kids trick-or-treat if high schoolers are going to be not mature and respect the people around them. Think about how sad that would be for the little kids who love Halloween.

My next reason is all high schoolers love getting free candy but they are not respectful at all they are rude. High schoolers don’t deserve candy if they are going to act rude and not mature they should go out and buy their own candy even if that isn’t very fun or if they don’t want to go out and spend their money.

My final reason is high schoolers love dressing up but why go out and trick-or-treat and maybe ruin a little kids night and instead go out and go to a haunted house or something. Everyone loves spending time on their costume but why go out trick-or-treating and if your costume is scary enough that could scare little kids and ruin their night. Kids should stop trick-or-treating at the end of middle school.

Selena I like all your reasoning but I disagree kids should stop trick-or-treating at the end of middle school. Reason one high schoolers wear inappropriate clothing a scare little kids. Reason two high schoolers love getting free candy but they are rude and not mature enough to get candy. Finally all high schoolers love getting free candy but they should by it themselves and not ruin a little kids night. At the end of middle school kids should stop trick-or-treating.

I agree with Simon's opinion because it is a lot like mine. We both agree that kids should stop trick-or-treating at the end of middle of school. We think this because High school kids are disrespectful to the person handing out treats, they wear inappropriate costumes that scare little kids and Middle Schoolers are still young enough to enjoy the spirit of Halloween with the littler kids.

Middle school kids are respectful with their actions and they don't terrorize children or they ask nicely and they can wait for the little kids to be done, but not high schoolers. All they want is the candy. We have learned that high school is very mean from Diary Of A Wimpy Kid.

His second reason is very promising to me because I still love the spirit of Halloween and dressing up. I am going to end at the end of middle school so when I am older I don't scare some little kid with my crazy ideas.

Like Simon said, High School kids like scaring little children. Some older kids should not be trick-or-treating because they wear super creepy costumes like Jeff the Killer or Freddy. These costumes can scare little children and make them not want to go trick-or-treating.

The reason I like Simon’s initial post so much is because it is saying that kids are smart enough for their actions but high school is not that mature enough to go trick-or- treating without scaring little children or pushing them out of the way for candy.

Lezlie you have a lot of good reasons why kids should stop trick-or-treating by the time they finish middle school however, I still disagree with you. I do agree with you on that kids may tempt to lose the spirit of halloween by not dressing up but only 9 out of 10 people don't dress up;which is mostly adults. In middle school kids/teen don’t always dress up for halloween which kids are still taking away the spirit of halloween in middle school.Middle schoolers don’t always behave in halloween but only like 4 out of 10 people do. When teens enter high school people start seeing them as adults so they start to behave as one. Middle schoolers can also go out and by as much candy and as much junk food as they want too. When you first enter high school is like if you are still in middle school. Middle schooler think the are “machos” and they go off and scare little kids. Not all of the high schoolers get paying jobs until they are 16. Middle schoolers also tempt to loose the spirit by not dressing up. I understand that you are just saying what you think, but you are still wrong. Middle schoolers can lose the spirit by not dressing up, only 4 out of 10 people (middle schoolers) behave, middle schoolers can go out and buy as much candy as they want in stores, middle schoolers are mostly the ones who go off and show off their weird junk off to little kids and to other people which scare little kids, high schoolers can tempt to do this to but not everyone one of them do it, just because one of them does it doesn't mean others will too,and not all of them get a paying job. Kids need to stop by the time they finish their freshman year.

Griffin, I think that your argument was good, but I disagree. I know that high schoolers wear inappropriate costumes and almost 100 % of all high schoolers love them. My older sibling who is in high school would not help me because he does not care about helping me. I say that all of the high schoolers should get in trouble if they are participating in a bad trick.
My first reason is that the high schoolers wear inappropriate costumes. I know for a fact that if a high schooler is dressed up in an inappropriate costume, they meant to dress up that way. The high schoolers wear inappropiate costumes for fun to make others laugh and to scare little kids. Oh and by the way, you can’t tell the good ones from the bad ones. High schoolers wear inappropriate costumes.
My second reason is that the high schoolers would not help little kids with their costumes. I know this because my older brother did not help me with any of my costumes. Helping parents in high school is not an option. Why won't they help? They will try to get the free candy for themselves instead of handing it out to little kids. I think that high schoolers should not be trick-or-treating.
My final reason is that high schoolers mess around a lot. This is because they think that they are the boss of the whole world, and they think that they can mess around without getting in trouble. Both of these assumptions are wrong. In your argument you said, “How many high schoolers do you usually see messing around, it’s a fair question, maybe 1 or 2 out of 10.” I believe that 9 out of 10 high schoolers mess around, and it usually causes trouble. Teenagers are worse than you think.
I think that high schoolers are not supposed to be trick-or-treating during Halloween; I know this because of three reasons: they wear the most inappropriate costumes you could ever see, they don’t help out their little brothers and sisters, and they will get punished for scaring little kids. I believe that high schoolers should not be out trick-or-treating on Halloween.

Kids need to stop by the time they finish their freshman year.

rebuttal against caden B.

Caden you made some good points but i disagree with you. I agree that kids do need nights to stay up late, but that’s what weekends are there for to hang with friends and stay up late. And the high schoolers are only responsible in front of adults (usually). And last but not least most high schoolers won’t come home and ask to go to bed or (usually) won’t come home at the curfew.
First is that the high schoolers don’t need time to stay up late.
High schoolers can stay up late on the weekends, thats what there for right? Anyway high schoolers get enough time to stay up late, on weekends maybe even on weekdays(hopefully not). And lastly high schoolers can afford their own candy so there is enough for the youngsters.
Second is that high schoolers (intentionally or unintentionally) cause trouble. “ not all older kids cause trouble” and that is true in rare cases, but most will scare kids or egg, tp, smash pumpkins or take more candy than their supposed to. Although there are a lot of older teens trick or treating does not mean they don’t cause trouble.
And latly not all teens will come home on time or want to go to bed. From my experience not a lot of older teens come home on time, or if they did they didn’t want to go to bed.” You got to realise that just because you see one kid that is older than a 6th grade doing something bad doesn't mean all of the others will too” and I totally agree with you on that, however there are some flaws. Just from watching some high schoolers you can tell their trouble, but with some you can’t really tell because when they are in the same room as an adult they don’t want to get in trouble.
High schoolers should not trick-or-treat. First because high schoolers don’t need time to stay up late. Second because high schoolers usually cause trouble. And third most older teens won’t come home on time or want to go to bed when they get home.

Alexia, some teens do try to scare little kids. And teens could have jobs. Don't forget teens could leave some candy for kids but I say kids should stop trick-or-treating at the end of middle school. Some kids might think of trick-or-treating for the scares not the candy. So I say that kids should stop trick-or-treating at the end of middle school.

Halloween Debate Rebuttal/ Lezlie G.
Lezlie, I still think the opinion is strong. Kids should stop Trick-or-Treating by the time they are in High School. This is because younger kids should have the chance, to actually enjoy Halloween, be able to get candy, and dress up. But also, not have to worry about the older kids, not being very respectful.
Yes, alot of the little kids do get scared! Maybe because of the scary costumes, or masks, but that doesn’t stop them from Trick-or-Treating. A lot of the Trick-or-Treaters that I see are polite to little kids. But most of the kids, in Middle School, are at this stage where they are getting mature. By the way they dress up, or go Trick-or-Treating.
You are wrong because “a lot of the High Schoolers/ Middle Schoolers just want to have fun on Halloween”. Also a lot of kids have been waiting till this day to show off their fun and creative costume that they bought. I would want to give a Middle Schooler candy. There’s nothing bad about a High Schooler dressing up for the spirit of Halloween.
I don’t agree with you, that High Schoolers can just go out and buy their own candy! They might feel like they should earn it. By the way they dress up. Older kids should start working, but they should have the chance again, to be a kid. Even though everyone says Halloween is just a kids day, everyone should be treated equally. So with that being said they should do it again.
Lezlie, this is why you’re wrong. “Kids should be treated equally”. Kids should be able to hang out with friends. But also to enjoy the spirit of Halloween! Therefore kids should stop Trick-or-Treating by the beginning of High School.

Rebuttal Against Grace S.
Grace, you make some good points, however I still disagree with you. Some teens would not care if they where punished for doing bad things so they are more likely to do it. My next reason is that they should not be trick-or-treating if they don’t have the halloween spirit. My last reason is that teens will scare people and it’s better to not have them scaring the elderly at all rather than it happening and they get in trouble.

Teenagers and high schoolers will do bad things. But even if they are punished there is a high chance that they will still do bad things. Teens will want to do more tricks than when they are young, and that will cause trouble. Teens will do things like egging houses or covering them in toilet paper and things like that, but that’s just how they are and if a few people are arrested it doesn’t stop other teens from doing those things.

My second reason is that high schoolers do not have halloween spirit and they should not participate. Teenagers have an advantage because they can get to the door faster than the smaller kids. It’s not fair for the small children to not get as much candy as a teenager because they are small and they aren’t fast enough. Unlike teenagers, kids will dress up and kids actually have halloween spirit. So why should teens get more candy than littler kids when they don’t even have halloween spirit?

The last reason is that teens will scare people and it’s better for them to not be scared at all than to be scared and have the teens get in trouble, and the teens will probably do it again. Teenagers will scare little kids, single mothers, or the elderly. There is nothing you can do to stop them. Punishing them will not be very effective because there are still more teens dressing up and scaring little kids and the elderly, thats why I think trick-or-treating should stop by the end of middle school.

Trick-or-treating needs to end in high school. Teens are doing bad and sometimes even illegal things, punishing a few does not stop them. Teens do not have the halloween spirit, there is no point for them to be trick-or-treating if they do not have the halloween spirit. Teens are scaring
the elderly, small children, and even single mothers. These are my reasons why I think trick-or-treating needs to end by the end of middle school.

Selena you also have good reasons on why high schoolers should go trick-or-treating but i still agree with lezlie. There are good high schoolers out there but you can’t hide the fact that there are also bad high schoolers out there.they can still have fun and bond with there friends or siblings but they should be responsible enough to know when and why they should stop trick-or-treat.another thing is that they can have fun to them but to the little kids the acts that they do or they show are sometimes inepropriet to all the little kids.

My first reason, high schoolers have good percinalitys and can show responsibility with elders and stuff but there are also kids that have not that good of a percinality and are disrespectful to elders and kids and should be responcible enough to buy there own candy instead of take the candy thats not meant for them, but is meant for the little kids.

My seconed reason is kids, high schoolers, have a more bigger privalidge to whatch more things then little kids and can frighten them so they shouldnt.i think that this is another reason because kids today are so frightened by it.

My third reason is kids should have the responsibility to go out and buy there own candy and not take little kids candy but take the little kids out to trick-or-treat because the parents might not have time for it and the little kids have to stay home so instead of taking the candy for yourself take the kids to get it.

Therefore, i think that lezlies right but you have some good reasons to but i still agree with lezlie because i think he is right on everything he says in his part..

Alexia, you make very good points on why you think kids should stop trick-or-treating in their freshman year, but i really disagree with you.

My first reason is ya what is the point of going trick-or-treating if you not going to dress up. Ya teens do tempt to scare little kids, but Alexia that is not the point of halloween. The point of halloween is to dress up and have fun not to scare little kids. Ya just because one kid does it ya it does not mean that others will to, but with alot of teens when their friends do it they feel they need to because they want to impress them. To show them they are just as mean as them.

I see your point ya if middle schoolers and small kids get free candy why can't high schoolers. One reason is because high schoolers have bigger hands so they can get more candy it would crush a little kids heart to knock on someone's door and they say they are all out of candy. Ya kids should not have to worry about next year they can't go trick-or-treating anymore. True but kids should not also have to worry that if they knock on someone's door and they say they are all out of candy. Also halloween is not all about getting free candy it is about dressing up and having fun. It not all about the free candy.

Teens should stop trick-or-treating at the end of middle school.

Ya not all teens tempt to scare kids but most do, not all of them have jobs but a lot of them can get one but they just don't want to. Also as i said before when teens hang out together they do stupid stuff just to impress them. Ya it is meant to give little kids more candy then teens, but it is more mean for teens to take all the candy before the little one can. You had very good points but i think i still believe kids should stop at the end of middle school.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN:)

rebuttal against Justin H

Dear Justin H
You have good ideas but yet you are wrong. I say this because in that age we really can't handle our temptation to do stupid things. We wear inappropriate costumes, and we seem to destroy Halloween.
First of all as we grow we always want to try new things. In this case curiosity makes do bad decisions. For example we start to evolve into a new form consider it like “Human 2.0.” And that's how we do dumb things. We scare little kids and also older kids scare us.
Second, we wear inappropriate costumes thing they look “cool,” but instead they look revolting; however, some older people dress appropriate and don’t disturb other peoples peace.

And finally, we destroy Halloween. We might not see it but others can feel it. What I mean is that we don't destroy Halloween physically but mentally. We do this by putting the idea in kids to be terrorized on Halloween or to do bad things.
In this conclusion all I’m saying is that you're wrong. I think its a bad idea to still have teenagers trick-or-treating.

Selena again you have some good comments but i still agree with lezlie.i agree with lezlie because she is still right.kids are to old to go trick-or-treating when in high schooland should have the responsibility to go out on there own and buy there own candy or babysit another young kid because they can get a job.

kids should have enough time to get a job and buy candy and give it to kids on trick-or-treat because thay have responsibiliy to go out on there own and do there own thing.they should be going to babysit little kids when they are not acompanyed by there parents.

High schoolers also do bad things and i knoiw there are kids that are good but you cant denie the fact that there are cruel kids who bully and steal from younger kids that cant defend themself. So high schoolers should be baby sitting the kids that cant defend them selfs.

therefore high schoolers shouldnt be going trick or treating because they should be doing something that will help them in life and do things for other people and not be selfish so other kids can go out and have fun dressing up and getting goodies.

Halloween Debate: Rebuttal Against Liam G.

Liam G. respond to Ryan N.
10/22/14

Rebuttal Against Liam G.
Liam, you have some good points, however, I still disagree. Kids NEED to stop trick-or-treating 8th grade. Here are my reasons why.
One, we DO outgrow things, it’s just part of life. We all do it, just accept it. Eventually you are going to outgrow Halloween, so why not in 8th grade?
Secondly, when you said” and we don’t really see kids crying because they don’t want to be embarrassed in front of everyone,” if they’re like 5 years old, don’t don’t care about getting embarrassed, unlike you and me that would. Also, when you said “plus, people won’t even know you’re a teenager,” I didn’t even say that. I said teenagers SHOULD stop trick-or-treating, not that people can’t tell you’re a teenager. And I agree with you on that one, people won’t be able to tell you’re a teenager.
Finally, teenagers shouldn’t be trick-or-treating because it wouldn’t be fun for us; it’s not the same as if we were eight. It’s just not for teenagers, they’re more mature and NEED to set a good role model, like not trick-or-treating when it’s no longer appropriate.
In conclusion, kids NEED to stop trick-or-treating in 8th grade to prevent everything you said in your initial post and to show younger kids a good role model, like not trick-or-treating in high school. They NEED to stop in 8th grade.
